Vevios is getting closer to the market. After qualitative testing of the first Vevios prototypes during 2018, we have made progress and improvements based on the users’ feedback and technical developments. Therefore we have finally completed a version of Vevios that contains and offers what a safety alarm should, without compromising the users sense of security or freedom. Vevios solves the shortcomings present in today’s safety alarms, which is not just a matter of much needed development and innovation when it comes to design and function, but also the groundbreaking technological developments Vevios can offer.
Today’s divided safety alarm binds the user to their home, and does not consider the user’s mobility and their want to lead an active life while still feeling secure. This is due to the fact that today’s safety alarm is based on an aging system that requires communication between the safety alarm that is worn by the user and a stationary device installed in the home. This means, in practice, that the user does not have the ability to leave their home and still feel secure, should an accident occur. We do not find it acceptable to force society’s most exposed groups to choose between freedom and security in this way. We also do not find, based on personal and professional experience within elderly care, that it is acceptable to not hold aid products in higher regard than they previously have been and currently are. The developments in elderly care have not kept pace with technological progress in other areas. How would it have looked if the medicinal technology in hospitals had not been updated in 50 years? Would that have been acceptable?
We live in a time of constant technological progress. There are new generations of smartphones, computers and smart-TVs launched every month. We can store data in the cloud and have developed apps that can turn on and off lights in the home - from the office or vacation. We have programs that develop themselves through artificial intelligence. All these developments are positive but they are not always fundamental, especially when considering all the problems we also have that are not addressed with the same level of interest and ambition. We here at Vevios find that it’s important to make sure the foundation of the house is solid before we start polishing its windows. We have therefore developed a safety alarm that makes use of contemporary technological developments for the elderly and chronically ill: highly risk exposed demographics where Vevios can really make a big difference. Through these advancements, we can provide a contemporary product to an area that, for unfathomable reasons, has found itself in a technological shadow.
To guarantee this uncompromising freedom and security, Vevios is a all-in-one product that respects the users day-to-day life through a simple and stylish shape, with the color of the bracelet itself being customizable. Vevios sits comfortably and securely on the wrist and when activated, in the case of a fall or accident, the user can communicate with the receiver through Vevios built-in speaker and microphone. The user receives a clear and calming response in the form of lights and vibrations until help arrives. Since Vevios comes with a built-in eSim, no installation is required and GPS allows for positioning, which means that the user can not only securely communicate with emergency services or elder care: they also know exactly where the user is. On top of all this, Vevios also offers an industry leading two week battery life with normal use and the Vevios can be charged without having to remove it from the wrist.
Vevios is the future of safety alarms.
