Vevios: A Web of Safety

When we designed Vevios safety alarm we had one question in mind: how do we create a safer and freer existence for the elderly and chronically ill? The foundation of Vevios has always been developments within a field that hasn’t seen enough technological innovation. This will to develop has been based on personal experiences with elderly care, coupled with a glowing ambition to solve problems: especially problems that cause a lot of unnecessary and unacceptable suffering. After a lot of hard work this has resulted in a stylish and cutting-edge safety alarm that is easy to use and can be worn everywhere.

For us, the sense of security of the user has always been the highest priority. However, as we test the Vevios more and more and collocate the feedback from our prototype tests, we realize that Vevios offers much more than that. Not only does Vevios offer a sense of safety to our users, but also to our users’ loved ones: a web of safety with the user as its centre. It is not only important, after all, that the users’ themselves feel safe with their Vevios, but also that users loved ones can carry that sense of security with them, and the knowledge that help is on its way should an accident occur.

But it goes further than that. Vevios has a holistic approach when it comes to solving the many problems with today’s safety alarms. Vevios not only raises the sense of security of our users and their loved ones, but also alleviates the work of emergency services and elder care with our groundbreaking and encompassing technology. Our vision is to improve every rung on the ladder with the goal of giving the elderly and chronically ill the safe and free life they deserve.

Vevios is in perfect step with the times when it comes to this approach, as it’s noted more and more that elderly care is in dire need of technological innovation. Dagens Industri has in the last few weeks reported on how hundreds of millions of kronor is to be invested in the digitalization of elderly care, and Vevios is ready to meet the contemporary and future challenges this digitalization will entail. Dagens Industri also includes this topical quote from the head of elder care concerns at SKR:

“We see that the developments in the country are progressing a little too slowly from the challenge we are facing, with more elderly and fewer in working age that can perform the elderly care needed. Therefore we have together with the government reached the conclusion that social services need support in this” (our translation)

Vevios is right now preparing for further tests on users in February and March. These are the final tests with the sharp prototype before we launch on the market later this year. Vevios is ready to ensure the web of safety that elderly care needs.
